We're ringing in the new year with our first apprehension of 2013!
Who: Operator Kris & Westlake Terrace Police
What: Two suspected burglars in custody
When: Jan. 8, 2013 at 3:07 a.m.
Where: A construction site in Westlake Terrace, Wash.
How: Kris, an expert operator in our Verification Center, received motion-triggered alarm activations coming from the eastern stairwell of a construction site with a Secure Pacific jobsite security system north of Seattle. Through the motion viewing technology onsite, Kris was able to verify what was going on. She saw a man wearing dark pants and a jacket walking down stairs onsite. She dispatched Mountlake Terrace PD and notified the emergency contact. Kris received another activation and saw the man retracing his steps and carrying a bag. Soon after, she saw the man on the southwest stairwell and notified the police of his new location.
The site contact later reported that two suspects were taken into custody and that one had suffered from K-9 dog bites.
