Case Study: Guarding Jobsites with Video

AdpearanceSecurity Resources

Have you ever heard of SitePrep magazine? It’s a national magazine geared at general contractors and the construction industry. Back in July, they approached us about providing a case study about security systems for construction sites  for their September issue. We decided to focus on our success at the newly-completed Arbor Village site in Mountlake Terrace, Wash., which had gotten some press earlier this year. We worked with SitePrep and Sierra Construction to put together the case study, and it ran recently. Here are some snippets! For the entire case study, visit the digital version of the publication.

Case Study: Guarding Jobsites with Video Caught in the Act

Without alarm verification, crooks often escape with stolen equipment before law enforcement arrives. In the scenario above, video verification allowed a highly trained operator from Secure Pacific to see the criminal activity that would have been invisible to passers-by…
Prior to installing a security system at the site, Muzzy reported losses of more than $10,000 due to equipment theft after hours. In December 2012, Muzzy decided to install Secure Pacific’s Verisafe jobsite security system. The following month, law enforcement officers arrested six individuals for trespassing and suspected burglary and Muzzy had no after-hours losses to report.   Sierra’s Arbor Village site is not alone in its use of Secure Pacific’s Verisafe solutions. As of July 2013, roughly 50 jobsites in the Pacific Northwest, both large and small, use the system to prevent loss.
After three consecutive high-profile apprehensions, would-be criminals must have gotten the picture that breaking into the Arbor Village jobsite was a bad idea. Since January, there has not been a single incident at the site. According to Muzzy, the best part of his site’s security system is the “peace of mind of knowing you’re doing everything you can do to prevent loss.”
