Alarm Security Companies and the New Washington State 564 Area Code

With the implementation of the new 564 area code throughout Western Washington, dialing full 10-digit phone numbers (area code included) is now mandatory to connect your call. When and where does it take affect? As of July 28th, 2017, this procedural change has taken affect. The new area code was added to Washington’s existing 206, 253, 360, 425 prefixes to support the increasing demand for more phone numbers. Those located within these area codes must dial the 10-digit number or will be faced with an automated voice message requesting a redial. What will be affected? The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission has cited this change may impact services such as medical alert devices, call forwarding, and other preprogrammed services in the obsolete seven-digit format. Winter and lower temperatures are coming and the last thing you want to be is unprepared. According to the Insurance Information Institute, water damage and freezing accounted for 33.7% of insurance losses in 2014 compared to 25.9% in 2013. The good news is that there are ways to prevent your pipes from freezing and causing damages by taking preventative action and educating yourself on how it can happen. What Happens When Pipes Freeze Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit which can spell trouble for unprotected pipes. The problem starts when water freezes inside a pipe causing pressure to build between the enclosed area (faucet, hose, etc.) and the ice. When the pressure becomes too great, the pipe will burst.
